This December, Third Space, London’s most luxurious fitness and health club, will open the doors to its new Wimbledon club, in a move which brings world class training, wellness and recovery facilities to South West London.

Wimbledon ChangingRoom

The launch of Wimbledon marks the beginning of Third Space’s expansion into residential areas, a central strategic aim of the group, as demand for clubs nearer members’ homes and places of work grows.

The Wimbledon club, located within the newly renovated Wimbledon Quarter, will provide 47,000sq ft of premium workout space for members to enjoy.

At the heart of the club will be a state of the art wellness sanctuary, complete with a plunge pool for immersive cold water therapy, bespoke heated loungers, a traditional hot and dry Finnish sauna and a hot and wet Loyly sauna.

Here, tranquillity will meet training, courtesy of a 25m four-lane swimming pool designed for performance and set against a backdrop of calming blue and green.

The opening of Wimbledon marks the introduction of Reformer Pilates to Third Space, in response to an increasing desire for this style of training from members. Taught by industry leading instructors, within one of three dedicated Mind & Body studios, Third Space Reformer Pilates offers a low-impact, yet dynamic strengthening workout, which further expands the extensive roster of award-winning classes members can access in-club.

Elsewhere, members can expect to find Third Space’s signature HIIT studio, Watt Bike Zone and a dedicated cycle studio with gradient lighting and surround sound, designed to create complete training immersion.

The Yard, a unique and impressive double height cross-functional training area, is home to some of Third Space’s most popular classes. Featuring an elite-level sled track and Eleiko equipped strength area, The Yard enables members to push themselves to their potential using precision crafted assault bikes, Ski-ergs, rowing machines, barbells and more.

With concepts designed by Tonik Associates, Third Space Wimbledon will be an ode to design and locale. Themed with touches of the iconic Wimbledon green, in reference to the AELTC, the club will be home to 3D feature walls, terrazzo flooring and bespoke lighting; with members also able to admire artwork from Rebecca Hossack Gallery throughout the club.

Third Space has been curating outstanding fitness spaces since the 2001 launch of its flagship Soho club. Earlier this month, the group announced it had secured a loan facility of £88.5m to support its continued expansion, beginning with Wimbledon. The launch of Wimbledon will be closely followed by the unveiling of the new clubs in Battersea, Clapham Junction and Wood Wharf in 2024.

Colin Waggett, CEO of Third Space: “The opening of Wimbledon marks a key moment in the expansion of our club network, as we start to reach members in new areas of London. As with every club within our network, no detail has been spared when it comes to the features we provide our members; Wimbledon’s world-class wet spa makes it a truly unique and luxury offering. The addition of Reformer Pilates is another important development for our clubs, as we see that members are increasingly seeking lower-impact and multi-faceted ways to strengthen and stabilise their bodies, and we plan to expand the offering to other clubs.”

Natural Fitness Food will be available on site, allowing members and passers-by to buy a meal, snack or freshly made shake onsite. With menus curated to cater to varying lifestyle and dietary preferences, Third Space clients will be fully supported in reaching their nutritional goals.
