#Landmark25Challenge Launching on Landmark’s 25th Anniversary, 25 May 2020

Teddington’s Landmark Arts Centre is launching the #Landmark25Challenge to celebrate the centre’s 25th anniversary and to raise money for its emergency fundraising appeal to save the centre, which faces permanent closure due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Arts Centre Manager, Lesley Bossine, commented: “We’d planned lots of events this summer to celebrate our birthday, but as the centre was forced to close, we created the #Landmark25Challenge so people can take part at home to raise money for our appeal, instead.”

The #Landmark25Challenge launches on Monday 25 May and aims to raise funds towards a target of £25K in 25 days and is based around doing arts related activities, which The Landmark is famed for, around the numbers 2 and 5.

Lesley Bossine, said: “It’s really easy to get involved; choose any arts challenge – it could be singing, comedy, playing an instrument, crafting, painting and do your activity over 25 days or for 25 minutes or 2.5 minutes, perhaps create 25 of something and ask your friends or family to sponsor you. There are lots of ideas on our website and where to donate.”

Some of the many creative ways to do a challenge include: create a 2.5 metre piece of art; paint, draw or create a piece of art every day for 25 days to remember lockdown; do 25 yoga downward dogs or sun salutations; sew 25 pennants to make bunting; recite 25 gags in 25 minutes; sing for 25 minutes on your daily walk. More ideas are available at www.landmarkartscentre.org

Lesley Bossine, commented: “We want to make the event as interactive as possible and would love to see the challenges so we’re asking people to take short video clips and share them on their social media tagging in The Landmark Arts Centre or email them to info@landmarkartscentre.org and we will share them too.”

More information on the #Landmark 25 Challenge can be found at www.landmarkartscentre.org where donations for sponsorship can be made.
