Would you like to have a restful mind, sleep deeply and feel nourished this year?
Alessandro Ferullo local Qi Gong teacher and health practitioner on the importance of deep sleep and resting the mind
What is a restful mind?
I went to a talk last week by His Eminence Gwalya Dokhampa who has just written a book called “The restful mind”. He is a young monk from Bhutan who is understands our Western restlessness. He explains that when we give ourselves a chance to calm and nourish our mind, we open up the time and space for understanding to come: understanding of our true nature and that of others. It is a book full of very inspiring ways to cultivate a restful mind..
Can Qigong help rest the mind?
Yes, for sure. In Qigong, we have a self healing practice where we often rest the mind on a simple image. The body and mind become more open to connect with the universal energy (Qi) and are nourished and re-balanced on many levels .
We tend to feel more positive and our health can greatly improve with Qigong practice.
Can you elaborate on the Nikken sleepsystem ?
Only with good quality sleep does the body get a chance to repair and restore. A recent study in the Journal of Science shows that brain cells shrink during sleep to open up the gaps between neurons and allow fluid to wash the brain clean. Sleep “cleans” the brain of toxins.
The Nikken Sleep System combines the natural energies of the Earth (magnetic technology) and the energies of the sun (far infra red technology), helping the body sleep deeply and the mind to switch off. It helps release stress from the body and helps us to restore and recharge naturally. A passive and very effective way to maintain good health.
