The open-air ice rink epitomises the very best in festive fun. Enjoy the amazing experience of skating at one of the country’s most scenic skating settings – Henry Vlll’s historic Thames-side Tudor palace – Hampton Court Palace.
It’s located in front of the spectacular palace, this ice rink offers something for everyone, from novices to ice skating experts. Enjoy daytime skating, followed by a visit to the palace, or soak in the ambience of an evening session, when the historic palace is alight with multi-colours.
WINTER TREATS FOR THE HUNGRY
Visitors can experience the Ice Rink Café and Bar, which will be serving up hearty winter warming platters, indulgent sweet and savoury treats and a wide range of festive beverages. Everyone is welcome in this relaxing festive spot, whether you’re a skater or a spectator.

CHRISTMAS LIGHT SHOW AT KEW GARDENS
Visitors will encounter a botanical world filled with seasonal cheer and mood-boosting bursts of colour as they Immerse themselves in Christmas at Kew through the welcome wreath archway. The much-loved Christmas Cathedral returns for 2021 and features thousands of fairy lights, giving guests the perfect opportunity to capture this quintessential Christmas moment on camera.
Botanical treasures from Kew’s living collections will be accentuated along the route to reinforce the essential part that plants have to play in all of our lives. Singing neon trees, sprawling branches illuminated with stars and seasonal festive projections illuminating Kew’s array of heritage trees all promise to enchant visitors this winter.
THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS
These will be brought to life with a vibrant rainbow tree illumination running along Syon Vista, and a spectacular Meadow of Light will burst into vivid life as visitors explore the magical seasonal surroundings of Kew at Christmas. The ever-popular Fire Garden also returns for 2021, alongside On the Wings of Freedom, a technicolour LED installation inspired by the unique transformative ability of butterflies. The final stop of the trail, the panoramic Palm House finale will welcome guests with a series of stunning projections across the historic glasshouse and adjacent lake, set to a memorable soundtrack of much-loved Christmas classics.

ANCIENT MARKET PLACE
Kingston’s popular Christmas Market has returned this year, spreading across the Ancient Market Place, Church Street and Clarence Street and adding a special touch of festive cheer to the town. Soak up the atmosphere and get into the Christmas spirit.
WHAT’S ON OFFER
Throughout the traditional wooden cabins, discover a treasure trove of unique and handmade items, perfect for stocking fillers and unusual gifts. You’ll find the Pyramid Bar at the centre of the action, serving up steaming mugs of mulled wine, hot chocolate, and all the beers you’d expect from a Bavarian market plus local craft beers.
Classic street-food will be on offer, including traditional Bratwurst and waffles, plus a live entertainment stage with choirs, bands and local singers every day of the week playing Christmas classics and tunes that will get you up dancing. A carousel will delight and entertain the little ones.
The market stalls will be open until 24 December, with the food stalls and bar open until 31 December.
