Inspired by her childhood colours of Africa, Jos Haigh swapped a career in science for the love of art. Jos is an avid supporter of wildlife conservation, and she is passionate about the wonderful wildlife in this world. She has developed a captivating style as a wildlife artist and paints in vivid saturated colours that accentuate the particular character of an animal. Jos really enjoys the fluidity and merging of colours that can be achieved with watercolours. She has a particular affinity with Kenya, the place of her birth, and paints African wildlife with watercolours – typically elephants, giraffes and zebras.
Jos is a partner artist for the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and sells her work widely through art galleries, exhibitions and directly via her website.
Do go and see her at her first exhibition since the pandemic at the Surrey Contemporary Art Fair, 24-26 September, Sandown Park.
As a regular exhibitor at this Fair, you will probably be familiar with the explosion of colours in Jos Haigh’s dazzling paintings. She also takes great care in naming the paintings, Blissful Beaux – a pair of serene giraffes, Court & Spark – teasing zebras, Absolute Atticus – yes, you’ve guessed, a self-assured rhino.
Jos will also be exhibiting at the Windsor Contemporary Art Fair, 12-14 November, Royal Windsor Racecourse.
Go and celebrate the beauty of colour with Jos Haigh’s amazing watercolour wildlife art.
