Carly is the Founder and Director of Vitus Wellbeing – a private therapy service based in Fulham, London. As a practicing psychotherapist herself, Carly sees a full caseload of her own clients and is pleased to have an expert team of psychotherapists supporting her.
Carly began her professional career by working in the charity sector – raising essential funds for cancer survivors, victims of domestic abuse and environmental causes through careful relationship management. Her passion for supporting others quickly became clear – she sought additional opportunities to fill her evenings and weekends, always trying to reach the most vulnerable in society and offer a listening ear.
After working extensively with victims of domestic abuse for some years, she retrained as a psychotherapist, obtained her Master’s Degree and began working for the NHS in Putney and for The Priory Group on Harley Street and in Roehampton, London. As her caseload grew, she transitioned into running her own solo psychotherapy practice and set-up her clinical base in Fulham.
“Carly is an exceptional therapist. I had plenty of bad experiences with other therapists before working with Carly. She offered a warm, convivial on non-judgemental environment in which to air the many difficulties and challenges that I was facing at that time and I can’t recommend her highly enough. Carly is extremely easy to get along with and made me feel very comfortable with immediate effect, which is vital when meeting someone for the first time under such challenging circumstances.”

With the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic came the steep decline of the nation’s mental health. Carly found herself inundated with requests for help and found her clients presenting with increasingly severe symptoms – more were experiencing suicidal thoughts or were actively self-harming.
She segmented her workload – moving the majority of her appointments online and offering face-to-face sessions to those in high need, even through the most severe of the lockdown restrictions. Struggling to turn anyone in need away, Carly found herself working longer hours and looking for other ways she could help.
Carly’s help and support was of immense benefit to our daughter whilst she struggled with her own OCD issues, as well having a sister with severe mental health issues. We would highly recommend her to anyone wanting an experienced and empathetic therapist.

Determined to do more, Carly launched Vitus Wellbeing, a private therapy service, in 2021.
Through creating Vitus Wellbeing, Carly pulled together a trusted team of highly experienced practitioners that held specialisms in different clinical areas – allowing the practice to cater to the needs of children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She hired experts in the field – all highly educated, thoroughly-trained and all practitioners who have engaged in their own psychotherapeutic research.
The team now operate from a suite of therapy rooms that Carly runs in Fulham, close to Putney Bridge. With expertise in working with depression, stress, anxiety, overwhelm, bereavement, burn-out, abuse, trauma, eating disorders, addictions and relationship difficulties (amongst other struggles), they’re meeting the need for highly specialised mental health support in South-West London.
The business is built on core values of being compassionate, understanding, knowledgeable, professional and credible. They offer an initial phone call to anyone questioning which therapist may best suit them, or to those with high anxiety who may need additional support to engage with private therapy.
I can’t speak highly enough of Carly and the service she provides. She is both compassionate, friendly and warm, as well as a highly skilled and professional therapist. Carly and I worked together for over 6 months and through our weekly sessions she helped me to address a variety of issues, past and present and to connect with who I am and what matters to me. She helped me to go from being a very anxious, lost and troubled person to someone who enjoys their life. Starting therapy can feel daunting, but Carly put me at ease right away, and that feeling of safety stayed with me throughout our sessions.

As horrific as the coronavirus pandemic had been for mental health, it opened the door to hybrid working and encouraged busy professionals to take stock and create balance in their day-to-day lives. Vitus Wellbeing has been able to grow and adapt to the needs presenting us today – offering daytime, evening or weekend appointment times and accommodating those who want to meet in person or online. Remote working has enabled clients from overseas to use the service –no-longer limited by their physical geography. Carly’s focus remains clear – the service needs to be warm and welcoming as well as being highly accessible and available for those in need, at the time when they need it most. With waiting lists forming for her team, Carly is committed to growing the service further to ensure no one has to wait for months on end to get the help they deserve.
We’re pleased to include Carly as a Woman to Watch as her work is, without question, positively impacting the mental health of our readers. She’s proud to live in Putney and is active in her local community – often meeting with other professionals in the area or rowing on the Thames. In the business’ first 10 months the team has grown to house nine expert psychotherapists, all of whom are kind, passionate and highly sought-after. We will watch Carly’s future path with great anticipation.
