Kate Winskill was a small child in the 1960s, but an early memory was being taken to the local Odeon to see a Beatles film. The reaction of the teenage audience screaming as though at a live performance remained with her.
It has been impossible to leave out the Fab Four as characters in her Famous Face artwork collection. As part of this Famous Face series, Kate Winskill has painted the individual heads of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison from vintage photography. These are painted in naturalistic colours, using watercolour, acrylic and varnishes and has then added digital colouring to create pop artist inspired pieces. Different colourways are available to create grids of portraits in a range of colours.
