Product Details – Battersea Art Print
Kate Winskill was born in London and grew up in the formative period of the 60s-70s. The rather bleak and edgy London of this time is imprinted on her consciousness from regular river bus trips through the city. These images now incorporate into her work.
Kate unearthed her original photographs of Battersea Power Station taken in 1978, when she was studying Fine Art at Kingston University many years later. These photographs have become a series of works, Battersea 1978. Taken from original photographs of Battersea Power Station at night, when the facility was still in operation, these powerful images have been digitally manipulated and coloured to create striking, graphic urban artworks, which are 21st century but at the same time evoke London’s recent past.
All prints are printed to order, signed and numbered. Because of this production process, we cannot offer full refunds in case of a change of heart!
