Who are we?

We are a husband and wife duo originally from Durban, SA who were used to cooking for a large family with varying tastes. Sometimes we would have 18 people over for dinner so we did our best to accommodate for varied dietary requirements. That was when we both discovered the joy of cooking and catering. After moving to the states for 6 years, we eventually settled in the UK and discovered the demand for tasty home-cooked South African food which many people may not have the time to make themselves.

We are proud that now the large population of South Africans in South West London and fans of South African cuisine can finally have access to fantastic authentic South African food! From meals to delivery, to catering your favourite events, we do it all. Durban Street Food is based out of our shop in South Lane, New Malden. Traditional South African food has developed and evolved across hundreds of years from a huge array of cultures – English, Portuguese, Indian, Malay, Greek, Dutch, Italian and German are just a few examples.

The mix of cultures and history has meant a mix of flavours and delicious ingredients that a lot of people may not have tried! We provide uniquely South African dishes from Bobotie, Durban Curry to Malva Pudding, Brandy Tart, Peppermint Dessert and more – all frozen ready to heat and eat. We offer a fabulous alternative to a traditional takeaway, so why not come visit us at our shop and see our selection of frozen ready meals. Super easy to pop into the microwave for five to seven minutes and you’ll have a tasty home-cooked meal to savour and enjoy.
