Stylish Mummy’s Personal Stylist Georgia Michalopoulou shares her favourites for stylish work outs and
I don’t like to exercise. There, I’ve said it. I was never really into it even though I have been exercising on and off for years. So I exercise not only for the obvious reasons (to improve my health and physical condition, and to achieve or maintain my weight goals) but also because I feel so good after an hour of exercise. Keeping ourselves active is crucial for our physical and mental health. So despite having to drag myself to the gym (pre lockdown) I know that I will not regret it.
It seems that most of us have added some form of exercise to their everyday routines during lockdown. Joe Wicks’ videos are viewed by hundreds of thousands daily, every personal trainer out there posts videos and many have started something new like Bollywood dancing! As we are all trying to be more active during these difficult times, activewear has become a wardrobe stable. Wouldn’t it be great if you could discover some new easy ways to make the most of your activewear and wear them throughout the day even when Joe Wicks has left your screen?
Many fashion brands have embraced our need to exercise more so they’ve been busy the last few years creating wonderful designs and innovative fabrics. Here are some ways to upgrade your activewear style and get motivated to exercise more. You can also find some of these at Shop With Darling.
1. Matching tops and bottoms is a big YES.
Usually for our everyday outfits we avoid matching our tops with our bottoms but when it come to exercise gear, matchy-matchy is totally acceptable especially if you go for a bold print. Tie dye and military prints are very much on trend this season so by going for a bold gym set you’ll make a big fashion statement while jumping up and down in front of your TV.

2. We like contrast too
Even though matching the top with the bottoms is totally fine in the activewear world when it comes to block colours, another way to go is contrast. You can even purchase two monochrome sets and mix and match them in order to spice up your exercise look. Red with blue / yellow with green / black and white… anything goes!

3. It’s all in the details
If colour is not really your thing, not a problem! By adding some colourful details to your all black looks you’ll have a stylish look in and out of your exercise routine. A pair of fluorescent pink trainers can make such a difference.

4. Multitasking apparel
You have a wardrobe full of activewear but you’re afraid that with homeschooling and everything that goes on in your life right that you haven’t make the most of your exercise clothes? Fear not! By adding a pretty vest or a colourful T-shirt on top of your sports bra you’ll have an effortlessly chic look for working or relaxing at home.
