Fleabag the Play was originally performed at the Edinburgh Festival in 2013 before transferring to Soho Theatre for an extended run where it was revived in its main house a year later. Subsequently the production toured the UK and Australia, returning to the Edinburgh festival in 2018 to huge acclaim with the title role played by actress Maddie Rice. In 2019 Waller-Bridge played to a sell-out run at SoHo Playhouse in New York before returning home to London to perform the last ever run of the play.
