Kinder to the environment
All the brands we stock have an amazing story behind them. For example, this solid shampoo from Kind2 has been one of our bestsellers. Sue, the brand’s founder, came up with the idea when she was living in Hong Kong and was shocked by the amount of plastic pollution in the sea. Every bar sold means two fewer plastic bottles in circulation.
Locally sourced
Rebecca is a local resident – from St Margarets – and is also passionate about helping other local entrepreneurs. She explains:
It’s been really inspiring connecting with other business founders since launching Seekology. Some of them simply walked into our Richmond store with their products and then we ended up becoming a stockist! Some of our bestselling brands have been local and we’ve been delighted to support them with their growth as well as creating a wonderful community – it’s also great to see them start collaborating with one another.
Our local brands include anti-pollution skincare from Freya + Bailey, also from St Margarets, natural supplements from Chiswick-based Life Armour and indulgent candles from Avenue Richmond – my favourite is the Pink Peony & Blush fragrance in a marble holder.
Perfect products for creating a home spa experience
Seekology also sells products that are perfect for creating a spa experience at home in these times when it’s not possible to go out and about. Rebecca says:
We all still need a little pampering and – given we don’t know how long we’ll be on lockdown for – self-care is actually very important. Just taking a few minutes a day to create a relaxing experience can help maintain a sense of calm. Some of my favourite products to create a ritual at home are:

Founder Rebecca Saunders shares her vision and the ethos behind Seekology:
I worked in retail for many years – including time as the John Lewis Beauty Buyer – and felt that there was no outlet for the amazing, innovative independent brands I was seeing to reach customers. At the same time I knew there was real customer appetite to shop from small businesses, without compromising on style or quality.
The idea for Seekology was born, and I worked with over 70 independent British brands in the four months that the first pop up store was open.
We are only selling online now, at www.seekology.co, although I am hopeful that in the future we’ll be able to run more pop up shops and events!
