Here it is, your clean slate, fresh start, new decade! What an opportunity, lets get cracking.
We know the mantra reduce, re-use, recycle.
What haven’t you worn all Winter? Recycle your barely worn pieces to charity. (If you do it now, come Spring you’ve halved the effort of flipping your Winter and Summer wardrobes.) Whilst you’re at it get some new hangers. The velvet covered ones in Primark are great.
Start a ‘Spring’ board on Pinterest (or tear images out of magazines and stick them on a mood board- I’m old school) with all the things that catch your eye. Layer them together and see what looks/colour palettes are evolving. Get a sense of YOUR favourites this season this way you won’t grab an armful of impulse purchases in the Sales.
Get down to basics. New bras (get fitted), new underwear and socks. Bin that tangle of old tights too! Vest tops for layering and trainers are both great to get ticked off now.
Mosh Mosh Grey Berlin Jean £119

Wonderlust Stingray Maxi Pleated Skirt Dark Leopard £140
Shoes At Last C Doug Leather Ankle Boots £85
Paradise Boutique Black Sparkly Gloves £22
Buba London Jet Strawstring Bag £672
Now you are in a great position to get yourself a few classic pieces to walk you in to Spring. A good leather jacket, a new bag and some fresh trainers will help you ride out February and March until you feel ready to dip your toe into this year’s warmer trends. Keep the colour palette neutral or monochrome and you can’t go wrong when you layer up and down through the day. I’ve sourced all these pieces from some lovely local boutiques and independents who would be delighted to see you during January so a good excuse to stretch your legs too!
