Grant: My family moved to Dorset Road, Merton Park in 1960 from Battersea where the smoke of the then active Battersea Power Station became untenable.
I was educated locally at the Sacred Heart Primary School and later Wimbledon College, over 50 years on I still live and work in the SW20 area with my family. The recent improvements and addition of attractive retailers have made Raynes Park a more exciting and dynamic area contributing to above average house price rises and opportunities for my company. We have exceptional parks such as Cottenham Park, a state of the art medical centre and great train connections to Waterloo and London Underground’s Tube system.
I have worked in Estate Agency locally for over 30 years setting up Fuller Gilbert in 2001. My wife Helen has been working for the business part-time for several years and our daughter Alex has made her own artistic contribution with her magnificent huge painting on the wall of the office. The aspect of the job I love is the personal interaction with clients. I like to think I can build a rapport with them to minimize the stress factor of the moving process.
