Hidden Gallery, renowned for its dedication to offering exceptional original artworks, is thrilled to announce its upcoming exhibition, “Picasso, Miró & Matisse”, at the esteemed Ad Lib gallery in Wimbledon Village.
Art enthusiasts and collectors alike are invited to immerse themselves in the timeless beauty of original artworks by three iconic artists who have left an indelible mark on the canvas of history.
Founded in 2016, Hidden Gallery boasts over 30 years of experience in acquiring and selling rare artworks. From its humble beginnings as a single gallery to expanding across three locations, Hidden has guided countless enthusiasts in starting and expanding their art collections, catering to various tastes and budgets.
“Picasso, Miró & Matisse” promises to showcase a curated selection of original works by these legendary artists, offering attendees an unparalleled opportunity to own authentic creations by some of the most significant figures of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The exhibition will feature a captivating collection of artworks, including Matisse’s quintessential ‘Cut-Outs’. Instantly recognisable as his work, these pieces have been endlessly copied, re-interpreted, and reproduced without ever being bettered. Transcending design trends, they look equally stunning in contemporary or traditional settings. Worked on by the artist between 1950 – 54, these pieces bear testament to his enduring genius.
Picasso’s contribution to the exhibition includes a selection of stunning hand-signed lithograph by one of the very last print suites he ever published, the ‘Portraits Imaginaires’. Channeling the directness and vitality of Rembrandt, Picasso’s love of costume, and the power of the subject’s gaze, these portraits announce to the world that Picasso was the reigning modern-day master.
A hand-monogrammed lithograph from Miró’s acclaimed portfolio ‘Album 19’, published by Galerie Maeght in Paris in 1961, will also be showcased. Featuring classic semi-abstract shapes, amoebic forms, and dream-like imagery, Miró captures a vibrant moment in his life, transitioning between the almost aggressive irony of his earlier years and the meditative approach that marks his late career.
“Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, and Joan Miró are not only titans of the art world but also key figures in the art market,” says Poppy Boys-Stones, Director of Operations at Hidden Gallery. “Their works continue to be in high demand worldwide, with collectors recognising the enduring value and brilliance of these artists’ creations.”
“We specialise in original prints by these artists because of their enduring appeal and sheer graphic brilliance,” adds Boys-Stones. “Whether collectors are seeking bold colours, striking imagery, or timeless pieces, this exhibition offers a diverse selection that caters to all tastes and budgets.”
Join us at Ad Lib Gallery from Friday 31st May – 9th June.
