Despite inflationary pressures, cost of living challenges and macroeconomic uncertainty, female entrepreneurship has skyrocketed over the past year, with a record number of women starting their own businesses.
Women’s Enterprise Day, which takes place on March 20th, will see Fashion designer and retail pioneer Karen Millen OBE, share how she started her business with a loan of £100 – and went onto build a global brand.
The event, which is now in its 10th year is Wandsworth biggest celebration of female entrepreneurs, and an opportunity for businesswomen and aspiring entrepreneurs to hear from inspiring founders, network with like-minded individuals, take part in interactive workshops and get practical tips to supercharge their businesses.
The event will also feature a panel of founders sharing their start up stories, a session on confidence for work and business by author and broadcaster Viv Groskop, a networking lunch and the Wandsworth Women’s Enterprise Awards presentation.
The Awards presentation, celebrates local stand-out female founders in the Borough of Wandsworth, many of whom run a successful business whilst juggling the needs of their families.
The nominations for the awards will close on Sunday 3rd March at 23.59. So, if you run a start-up, social enterprise, or are a sole trader and believe that you deserve recognition, or you know someone who does, then nominate yourself or them here.
