The Evening Standard, in association with NETFLIX, has revealed the first lineup announcement for its inaugural Stories Festival. This is promising to be a really exciting event with a fantastic line-up.

The festival celebrates a diverse range of talent, including leading authors, poets, screenwriters, debut novelists and comedians. These storytellers will share their methods and unique approaches to live audiences across this weekend extravaganza.

Some of the most popular shows from our TV screens will be present too – don’t miss:

  • Ricky Gervais and the cast of Netflix series After Life join the festival line-up
  • Bridgerton author Julia Quinn, actress Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), and director Tom Verica discuss the global success of the Netflix show 
  • ​​Best-selling author Robert Harris will be talking about the adaptation of his best selling novel, Munich – The Edge of War into a Netflix film with director Christian Schwochow and producer Andrew Eaton
  • The Stories Festival in association with Netflix, is a three day celebration of storytelling featuring the brightest stars of page, stage and screen. It takes place from 24-26 September at Picturehouse Central

Performances that promise to engage the audience with its diverse range of works

The Stories Festival will include live readings, talks and workshops from the likes of Dr Amir Khan (The Doctor Will See You Now), Anita Rani (presenter and author of The Right Sort of Girl), Ashley Walters (Star of Netflix series Top Boy), Candice Brathwaite (Author of I Am Not Your Baby Mother), Daisy Buchanan (author of Insatiable), Ed Balls (Former Shadow Chancellor and author of Appetite: A Memoir in Recipes of Family and Food), Holly Smale (author of Geek Girl), Jack Guinness (model and author of The Queer Bible), Jed Mercurio (Creator of Line of Duty) and Rabina Khan (Lib Dem councillor and author of My Hair is Pink Under This Veil). The Festival will also feature a showcase from Stormzy’s #Merky Books (Penguin Random House).
