Freckle Productions Presents
The much-loved Stick Man by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler has returned to Rose Theatre in Kingston to entertain the whole family this Christmas!
Our editorial team had the please of viewing this modern family classic in a very 2020 way; with masks on and sitting with our party only. This didn’t spoil the fun or audience participation one bit. There are plenty of puns and panto moments to keep adults entertained throughout the hour long show. The stage design was brilliant in true Rose Theatre style. Their inventive sets are always impressive.
Stick Man is having an ordinary morning with his stick wife and three stick children. But it all turns into quite something else when he sets off on his jog and the day soon becomes a misadventure for poor Stick Man. He runs into a dog who wants to play fetch with him, a swan builds a nest with him, and he even ends up on a fire! Will Stick Man ever get back to the family tree in time for Christmas?
The team behind this delightful adaptation is Freckle Productions. They’ve also brought us Zog, Tiddler and other Terrific Tales, and Tabby McTat. Stock Man features a trio of top actors and is packed full of puppetry, songs, live music and plenty of funky dance moves.
The Stick Man Family is really delighted to be back on stage after all they and the audience have been through this year. Rose Theatre will be following all the latest government advice to make Stick Man as safe as possible and as enjoyable as ever.
