Solving Kids Cancer Charity are again this year supported by Surrey based Henley Shipping.

In 2019 the team at Henley Shipping raised over £6.5k for the charity through “The Great Henley Head Shave” when the entire Henley Shipping team undertook a public head shave at the Cobham institution “The Running Mare”.

Now in 2020 the guys are looking to go even further having just launched “Beauty and The Beard” once again in aid of Solving Kids Cancer. Twenty-two Henley members of staff, plus an ever growing number of supporters have pledged to grow their beards or hair for 3 months from October 16th 2020 through to January 16th 2021 to raise money for an amazing cause.

So far, in less than 2 weeks they have managed to raise over £4.5k with another two and a half months to go, an amazing effort already.

Since their launch, Henley Shipping have undertaken a variety of charity projects for a wide variety of causes.  At the start of the Covid pandemic, Josh and the team were keen to explore ways they might be able help and amongst other things they volunteered Henley Shipping as a free delivery service for anyone wanting to donate large gifts to Sir Captain Tom Moore around his amazing NHS fundraising marathon effort.

In addition to this in April they were appointed as the official delivery partner for the Virgin Radio UK “Chris Evans Breakfast Show NHS Auction”, collecting and delivering hundreds of amazing auction items around the UK for free.

Josh and Alex also share a passion for one specific charity, Solving Kids Cancer, a charity fighting for a future where no child dies of the childhood cancer neuroblastoma or suffers due to its treatment.

Neuroblastoma is a life-threatening childhood cancer that affects around 100 children each year in the UK. Nearly half of those are categorised as ‘high-risk’, a diagnosis that’s even more challenging to treat and increases the need for our additional support.

Through their research, Solving Kids Cancer are committed to working with experts worldwide in order to proactively bring forward the development of more, better and less toxic treatment options, bringing these children fighting neuroblastoma in the UK and Ireland. Through this, they are determined to advance science and find a cure for future generations. In addition they provide and invaluable resource for families of children affected by neuroblastoma, providing support throughout their cancer journey and helping them with the widespread challenges they face.
