From Hampton Court Palace to Le Château de Versailles, the Palace2Palace charity cycle ride promises to be legendary.
It runs from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 June and is in aid of the Historic Royal Palaces’ charity which supports six of our extraordinary London palaces including the Tower of London, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hampton Court Palace.
After cycling three days and covering approximately 185 miles, the fourth day is set aside for you to explore Le Château de Versailles which was home to many a French King and Queen until Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette lost their heads to the guillotine following the Revolution.
Not to be missed on a visit to this World Heritage Site, which contains 2,300 rooms, are The Hall of Mirrors, The King’s State Apartment, The Queen’s Apartment, The Mistress’ Apartments, and the gardens that boast an array of spectacular fountains and statues.
Eddie Ottmann from EKO MARKETING who also organised the Fontainebleau to Richmond cycle ride to celebrate 40 years of the Towns’ twinning said, “Cycling through the French countryside, the beauty of this ride is that your journey’s end will be truly spectacular, seeped in history, beauty and culture, and is not at just a city centre landmark.”
