For sushi lovers, June just became the most delicious month of the year.
To celebrate International Sushi Day on 18 June, Sticks’n’Sushi is rolling out a month-long programme of limited-edition dishes, signature cocktails and immersive sushi masterclasses across its UK restaurants, giving guests more than one reason to raise a chopstick.
Available from 1–30 June, the exclusive Aburi Setto menu shines a spotlight on flame-seared nigiri, showcasing five new creations that blend Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary flavour combinations.
Among the highlights are soy-cured tuna topped with garlic butter, Parmesan and truffle dust; seared salmon finished with miso aioli; and avocado elevated with Royal Beluski Exmoor Caviar. More indulgent offerings include seared yellowtail kingfish and Japanese Wagyu paired with Parmesan, shiitake, rice korokke and kizami wasabi.
Available as a 10-piece set for £37, the collection offers an opportunity to experience some of the restaurant’s most inventive flavour pairings in a single sitting. Diners who prefer to mix and match can also order individual nigiri pairs from £7.
Complementing the menu is the limited-edition Hojicha Yume cocktail (£10.50), a drink that taps into one of Japan’s emerging flavour trends. Built around roasted hojicha tea, the cocktail combines raspberry and Suntory Haku Vodka before being topped with vegan foam, creating a balance of nutty, fruity, and lightly smoky notes.
For those looking to move beyond the role of diner and into the role of sushi chef, Sticks’n’Sushi Battersea is also launching a new series of adult sushi masterclasses.
Beginning on 9 June, the sessions invite guests behind the scenes of sushi-making, starting with Prosecco, edamame and sake before chefs guide participants through signature rolls including Kappa Maki, Crispy Ebi and Shake Aioli. The experience concludes with guests enjoying their own creations alongside miso soup and fresh lemonade.
At a time when experiential dining continues to grow in popularity, the masterclasses offer something beyond a traditional restaurant visit: a chance to understand the precision, technique and artistry behind some of Sticks’n’Sushi’s most-loved dishes.
Whether you’re a long-time sushi enthusiast or simply looking for a standout culinary experience this summer, Sticks’n’Sushi’s International Sushi Day celebrations promise an enticing blend of flavour, creativity and craftsmanship.
The Aburi Setto menu and Hojicha Yume cocktail will be available at Sticks’n’Sushi restaurants nationwide from 1–30 June.
