From the Editor
Hello and welcome,
My name is Gomolemo Makolomako, and I am the Owner and Editor-in-Chief of Darling Magazine.
Originally from South Africa, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Science from the University of South Africa. Since moving to the UK, I have built my career around communication, entrepreneurship and empowering women through meaningful storytelling. Alongside my work with Darling, I am also the co-founder of Sens8ate Skincare, a premium natural skincare brand.
When the opportunity arose to take ownership of Darling Magazine, it felt like the natural next step in a journey I had long envisioned. Founded by Karine Torr in 2009, Darling has always been more than a magazine. It is a platform that celebrates women, champions independent businesses and provides a space for stories that inspire, educate and connect communities.
As we continue to evolve, my vision is to honour the publication’s legacy while expanding its reach and impact for a new generation of readers. Through our features, interviews and editorial content, we aim to amplify diverse voices, celebrate achievement, encourage wellbeing and create meaningful conversations around the topics that matter most.
At Darling, we believe every woman has a story worth telling. Whether she is building a business, leading change in her community, pursuing a creative passion or overcoming personal challenges, these stories deserve to be seen and shared.
Thank you for being part of our community. Your support, engagement and continued readership allow us to keep creating content that informs, inspires and empowers.
I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to Darling’s founder, Karine Torr, and to Marja-Leena for their continued support, guidance and belief in the future of the publication.
Warm regards,
Gomolemo Makolomako
