A Humble Beginnings in Wimbledon
The Magazine has been speaking directly to discerning, style conscious audience with a passion for arts and culture, wellness, fashion and beauty, travel and food as well as purposeful living for over 15 years. It remains a trusted lifestyle voice primarily for women in Wimbledon, Richmond, parts of North Surrey and similar community-driven areas – covering South West London and Surrey”.
Founded in 2009 by Karine Torr in Wimbledon, London. Initially a print publication, it quickly gained recognition for its commitment to showcasing authentic women’s stories, fashion and beauty, health and wellness, and local culture. The magazine’s editorial approach emphasised inclusivity, authenticity, and a celebration of real-life experiences, distinguishing it from mainstream publications.

Digital Evolution and Editorial Leadership
In December 2019, Darling transitioned to a fully online format, adapting to the evolving media landscape and expanding its reach beyond its local roots. This shift allowed the magazine to engage a broader audience while maintaining its core values. Under the editorial guidance of Gomolemo Makolomako, who took over at the end of 2023, Darling has continued to produce content that resonates with its diverse readership. Gomolemo’s leadership has been instrumental in steering the magazine through this digital transformation, ensuring that its voice remains strong and relevant.
The Anticipated Print Relaunch
In early 2025, Darling announced plans to resume its print editions, marking a significant milestone in its evolution. The decision to reintroduce print reflects a strategic move to reconnect with audiences who appreciate the tactile experience of a physical magazine.
