Amsterdam-based designer JimmyPaul unveiled his AW26 collection, Roam, at London Fashion Week, marking the debut of a collaboration with global entertainment brand Pokémon. The partnership was developed in collaboration with long-time licensee DIFUZED, which facilitated the creation of a commercial product range.

Rooted in childhood nostalgia and the designer’s long-standing affinity for Pokémon, Roam unfolds as an immersive exploration of the JimmyPaul brand’s creative DNA. The collection is structured across 10 distinct “worlds,” each inspired by different Pokémon types, personalities and visual identities. Drawing from 30 favourite characters selected by the designer, the runway pieces reinterpret character traits through sculptural silhouettes, layered textures and vivid colour palettes.

Alongside the catwalk presentation, a JimmyPaul × Pokémon product line was developed with Difuzed, translating key runway visuals into wearable garments intended for a wider consumer audience. The commercial range extends the Roam concept beyond the show space while maintaining its graphic and expressive core.

“Growing up, Pokémon shaped my imagination. I dreamed of becoming a Pokémon Trainer; my favourites being Fairy-type, and creating my own universe,” JimmyPaul said. “This collaboration feels like bringing those childhood dreams to life.”

Mathieu Galante, Senior Director of Licensing at The Pokémon Company International, said the partnership reflects a shared sense of creativity and play. “We are thrilled to be working with JimmyPaul at London Fashion Week. His creativity and inspiring design, combined with Pokémon’s sense of fun and adventure, is what has brought this partnership to life and is sure to delight fans of all ages.”

For nearly three decades, Pokémon has remained one of the world’s most commercially successful entertainment franchises, maintaining a strong presence in global popular culture across generations.

Gilbert El Kalaani, Chief Executive of DIFUZED, described the project as an intersection of fashion, fandom and cultural legacy. He said the collaboration reflects the brand’s 30-year history while enabling contemporary reinterpretation through design.

Beyond the Pokémon references, Roam integrates a wide range of influences, including Indonesian heritage, Japanese workwear, 1990s surf culture, motorsport aesthetics, 1980s postmodernism, horror cinema and early-2000s punk. Themes of memory, identity and personal evolution underpin the collection.

Sustainability remains central to the label’s approach, with the majority of looks produced using deadstock fabrics, vintage materials and reworked textiles from previous collections, reinforcing a focus on reinvention and individuality.

With Roam, JimmyPaul positions fantasy and personal history at the centre of the runway, presenting a collection that merges pop culture and couture while expanding the brand’s global reach through its partnership with Pokémon.
