Last night – 13th of October, The Castle Hotel Windsor welcomed Britain’s beloved culinary icon, Mary Berry, in celebration of her latest book, Mary 90.  The sold-out event drew in over 300 fans, food lovers, and local dignitaries for an intimate book signing and Q&A session in the elegant surroundings of the hotel’s grand ballroom.

The evening marked a highlight in the town’s cultural calendar, as guests gathered to honour the legendary cook and television personality on the occasion of her 90th year. Mary Berry shared heartfelt stories from her remarkable nine-decade journey, both in and out of the kitchen. Audience members were treated to anecdotes from her career, reflections on family and food, and insights into the making of Mary 90 – a deeply personal book and celebration of a life lived with passion and purpose, published by BBC Books.

Guests were welcomed with a complimentary glass of prosecco and a selection of delectable canapés before Mary took to the stage for the interactive Q&A session with Andrew Try, Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire. Each guest received their own copy of Mary 90, signed by Mary on the night of the event.

“We were truly honoured to welcome Mary Berry to the Castle Hotel Windsor,” said Cluster General Manager, Shaun Bowles. “Her warmth, wit, and wisdom created a magical evening for everyone in attendance. It was a privilege to celebrate such an extraordinary milestone with her.”

Established as one of Windsor’s finest boutique properties, steeped in history dating back to 1528, the storied surroundings of The Castle Hotel made the perfect setting for this exclusive event following Mary Berry being made a Dame Commander by the Prince of Wales for a lifetime of cooking, writing, and baking at Windsor Castle in 2021.

Mary 90 is now available in bookstores nationwide and online. The event was part of Mary Berry’s official promotional tour for the book. To coincide with the book, Mary will also be taking a fascinating look back at her career in food, inspiring her to bring viewers new and exciting recipes in a special six-part series on iPlayer and BBC Two called A Lifetime of Cooking.
