Fragments of Us – Talawa x FUBUNATION
Greenwich+Docklands International Festival 2025 l Thursday 4th September
As part of GDIF’s 2025 programme, we wanted to highlight a bold new collaboration that speaks to the heart of Black British creativity and storytelling. The UK’s leading Black British theatre company Talawa, together with trailblazing dance company FUBUNATION will premiere an early version of Fragments of Us – a striking new outdoor performance.
Talawa and FUBUNATION are pioneers of UK Black-led arts, and their partnership marks a powerful moment for the outdoor performance scene. With its unique blend of Hip Hop, African dance and spontaneous audience interaction, Fragments of Us redefines communal storytelling within public spaces.

Gorilla Circus: RPM l Corn Exchange Newbury l Saturday 12th July
This summer, the Corn Exchange Newbury welcomes one of the UK’s most exciting contemporary circus companies for a truly unique outdoor event. Gorilla Circus brings RPM, a bold, high-octane performance set on a giant moving treadmill, to the heart of Newbury’s Market Place.
Fusing roller skating, street dance and acrobatics, RPM is a powerful, physical investigation into the UK’s colonial legacy, asking whether we’ve truly reckoned with our past.
Founded by a former flying trapeze artist, Gorilla Circus is known for creating adrenaline-charged, story-driven shows set on jaw-dropping custom structures.
Without Walls, announces a diverse new programme for 2025

Without Walls has announced the nine artists who have been commissioned for their 2025 programme, highlighting a diverse array of innovative and engaging work. Touring the country this summer, this year’s season continues Without Walls’ commitment to making creative work in public spaces accessible for a range of audiences, in partnership with some of the UK’s most highly regarded outdoor arts and performance specialists.
The artists included in the 2025 programme will tour to Without Walls’ festival partners Brighton Festival, Norfolk & Norwich Festival, Stockton International Riverside Festival, Birmingham Weekender, Certain Blacks – Ensemble Festival (London), Greenwich+Docklands International Festival and, new for 2025, An Indian Summer Festival (Leicester).

With 79 performance days planned – 12 more than last year – and every artist guaranteed at least four festival bookings, we’re delivering a platform for bold, boundary-breaking work to flourish.
