As summer reaches its peak, London’s cultural calendar is heating up with a sensational lineup of shows you won’t want to miss. August promises an unforgettable month of creativity, style, and show-stopping entertainment — all handpicked by our editor to keep you in the know. Three of these fantastic shows coming to London this August include – MACBETH (solo) an award-winning one-man reimagining of Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy showing as part of Camden Fringe, and a double-bill of whimsical family-friendly musicals The 3 Musketeers and The Elves and the Shoemaker at Greenwich Theatre.
Macbeth (solo) / Camden Fringe
The winner of the ‘Best International Show’ at United Solo Theatre Festival in New York City, MACBETH (solo) is a bold and visceral reimagining of Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy that is coming to the Camden Fringe this August. Adapted and performed by Artistic Director Paul Goodwin, this 60-minute dramatic monologue is underscored with an atmospheric original soundscape by Ukrainian composer Dmitriy Saratsky, bringing new immediacy to this tale of ambition, guilt and descent into madness.

The Elves and the Shoemaker and The 3 Musketeers
Greenwich Theatre has announced their summer season of family shows – a double bill of classic favourites The 3 Musketeers and The Elves and the Shoemaker. Both productions will run from late July to late August 2025, featuring a dynamic ensemble of six emerging performers, who bring fresh energy to these family-friendly adventures.
Reimagined in the French city of Carcassonne, The 3 Musketeers is penned by multi-award winner and Greenwich favourite Anthony Spargo (Alice’s Adventures Underground, Olivier Award nominee; Robin Hood, Snow White, Dick Whittington and his Cat, Greenwich Theatre) winner of Best Script and co-recipient of the Best Panto at the UK Pantomime Awards 2025. In a whimsical retelling of a beloved fairy tale, the cast will split into two teams of three who will revolve parts, show by show, for The Elves and The Shoemaker.
