The much-anticipated Kids for Kids Executive Fly-Fishing Day returns this autumn, taking place on Saturday 11th October at the stunning Park Lake, part of the Duke of Northumberland’s private Albury Estate in Surrey. Widely considered one of the county’s best- kept secrets, this tranquil 1.5-acre lake offers a truly exclusive experience for those wishing to enjoy a peaceful day’s fishing in a glorious countryside setting.

With sole access to the lake for the day, this event is not only a rare opportunity to fish at such a sought-after location, but also a chance to make a lasting difference to children in one of the world’s most desperate regions.

While the event offers a memorable day out for fishing enthusiasts of all levels, it is a fantastic way to raise urgently needed funds for children in Darfur, Sudan, where conflict, displacement, and famine are placing countless lives in peril. The region is now facing catastrophic levels of food insecurity, with children under five particularly at risk of severe acute malnutrition.

The World Food Programme has warned of a devastating famine, and humanitarian access remains critically limited due to ongoing violence. At a time when basic food, medicine, and clean water are out of reach for so many families, your support has never been more urgently needed.

Funds raised from the event will go directly towards providing Kids Kitchen Kits – containing essential items such as lentils, pulses and groundnuts – to help provide vital nutrition to children who are severely malnourished. When possible, we have also included seeds for planting, as well as medicine and veterinary drugs. So far, we have reached 45 of our 110 villages and are currently targeting 40 more.

Whether you are a seasoned angler or have never picked up a rod, all are welcome. Qualified fly-fishing instructors will be on hand throughout the day to offer guidance and support, and all tackle is provided. The lake will be specially stocked with rainbow trout, offering excellent sport for all participants.

The day is also an ideal occasion for entertaining clients, enjoying quality time with family, or simply treating yourself to a peaceful and fulfilling day out. Guests will enjoy full hospitality, with breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, hot drinks and homemade cakes served throughout.

Ticket Options:

AM session only (9.30 am to 12:30pm, including lunch) @ £85 each (min. donation) to include breakfast, morning coffee & home-made cakes and lunch with wine and beer. All drinks available throughout.

PM session only (12.30 pm lunch ’til dusk) @ £85 each (min. donation) to include lunch with wine and beer, afternoon tea with home-made cakes. All drinks available throughout.

“If you cannot come fishing please will you support our Emergency Appeal? If ever you have wanted to make a difference, this is the time you really can. Children need us.” Patricia Parker OBE, Founder.

N.B. Children (minimum age 10) need to be accompanied by a fully paying adult. Because ofthe limit of space on the banks children also need to be full price. Sunglasses or glasses, and hats ideally with a peak, must be worn by everyone. Health and safety are our first concern, but you are advised that you do fish at your own risk.

About Kids for Kids

Kids for Kids transforms the lives of children living in abject poverty in Darfur, Sudan. The charity adopts villages, introducing an integrated package of grassroots sustainable projects identified, and run, by the villagers themselves, lifting them out of poverty long-term.

Our key project is our Goat Loan. We lend the poorest families 5 goats so that children have milk. Today this is their only source of protein. After 2 years, as the little flock grows, 5 nanny goats are passed on to another family – and in turn they pass on 5 offspring. We lend donkeys to carry heavy loads, and chickens to the elderly for eggs, we provide mosquito nets and blankets, farm tools and much more.

We train midwives & first aiders to save lives. We install hand pumps for clean, accessible water. We build kindergartens & health centres. And we plant trees to slow the spread of the desert, provide shade from the strong desert sun and by-products that can be used, eaten, or sold by the communities. To date there are 110 Kids for Kids villages in Darfur.
