This October, the iconic Actors Church in Covent Garden will host An Evening of JOY, a one-night-only concert celebrating music, theatre, and the resilience of women, with all proceeds supporting The Joy of You CIC, a charity dedicated to helping women overcome grief and trauma.
The evening will be hosted by Karla Bear, the longest-reigning champion of Drag Idol UK and celebrated cabaret star, alongside some of the West End’s biggest performers, including:
- Claire Moore (Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Les Misérables)
- Drew Jaymson (Mamma Mia, Taboo, Jesus Christ Superstar)
- Alaric Green, baritone at the English National Opera
Matt Smith (Dear Evan Hansen, School of Rock, Ain’t Too Proud) will direct the music, which spans West End hits and George Michael classics.
Guests can enjoy English sparkling wine and artisan macarons before the performance, and take part in a raffle offering exclusive prizes, including:

Founded in 2022 by Sophie Dodds following the sudden loss of her father, The Joy of You CIC provides personalised support to women facing the physical and emotional scars of trauma, including breast cancer recovery, domestic abuse, and bereavement. The charity’s mission is to restore confidence and empowerment for women in the hardest of times. Funds raised from An Evening of JOY will help open a London branch, expanding its reach and impact.
