Meet the Editors

Group Editor/Publisher & Darling Wimbledon Editor - Karine Torr

Every year, for two splendid weeks of summer, SW19 becomes the most famous postcode in the world. But the tennis is only one of a thousand reasons it’s such a privilege to live and work in Wimbledon. I’m blessed to have made a home here with my husband and three wonderful children. I’ve been in the travel business and the music business but, as a passionate entrepreneur, I’m proud to have started Darling Magazine seven years ago to give local women a platform to share their stories and to connect with friends, customers and the community at large. I’m thrilled that Darling has become such a well-loved magazine, and to have been able to take the same ethos of women connecting  and supporting other women to our other three areas around SW London, Surrey and Kent. Darling is expanding into even more territories – the sky’s the limit!

Darling North Surrey Editor - Philippa Hennessy

An entrepreneurial journalist with a passion for publishing and life-changing opportunities, mother to three boys, housewife and an accomplished marathon runner, I lead an energetic and fulfilling lifestyle. Not one to sit around and wait for projects to land in my lap, I seized the chance to bring Darling to Surrey shortly after I relocated to Cobham in 2012. It was obviously apparent that the sassy, sophisticated Surrey woman deserved more than what she was getting - a sleek, easy and informative read of the highest quality; something to enjoy at her leisure at home or at the hair salon, something that she can relate to and something that is local from front to back. Capturing the highlights of regional, prominent events, red carpet soirees and glitzy, charity balls, the magazine follows our school's successes and covers topics from seasonal suppers, interiors, health and fitness to beauty and the latest fashion trends. Darling has become a publication that is seen, read, appreciated and much talked about. Its USP and key to success is of course the community of inspiring women that reside here who bring the magazine to life and give it that certain je ne sais quoi.

Darling Kingston & Teddington and Darling Richmond & Twickenham Editor - Marja-Leena Toseland

I'm originally from Finland and moved to the UK over 25 years ago. I now live in Kingston, not far from Richmond Park, with my three children. Darling has filled a real gap in the local publication market since its launch. We are the only local magazine specifically written for women and we continue building on our great relationship with our readers, bringing them interviews with women who influence and inspire, health and wellness advice, education news, beauty and the latest trends for home and fashion as well as local culture and arts. My broad experience in marketing and communications, (first at Nokia and later with IBM) has given me great skills for assisting businesses in the area to grow and flourish by providing them a platform through which to reach this great group of local women.

Darling Ascot, Sunningdale, Sunninghill, Virginia Water Editor - Martine Curzon

I went to school in Sunningdale then moved to London at 17. After studying for a degree I started my professional career at BMW Holland Park. Three years later I moved into the property world, where I've been for the last 25 years. Two grown up children later, I returned as "the new girl on the block". My aim is to bring a fresh, dynamic women’s magazine to the area which concentrates on outstanding personalities and brings local businesses together.
